“It is an honor and privilege to support the work of Ability Fitness Center with this donation,” said Katie Gould, President of the Rotary Club of Leesburg. “Ability Fitness Center exemplifies the kind of community service that Rotarians strive to achieve in their own lives. We are proud to support the Center as it provides therapeutic fitness and wellness to those it serves.”

Ability Fitness Center is a therapeutic fitness and wellness center for people with spinal cord and brain injuries, stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, cerebral palsy, balance disorders, developmental disabilities and other neurological conditions. The Center uses specialized equipment and expert clinicians to provide access to innovative, customized and activity-based interventions to generate the greatest level of independence and recovery possible for its clients.

“It is with great appreciation that we accept this generous donation from The Rotary Club of Leesburg,” said Freddie Hetzel, Founder and Chairman of Ability Fitness Center. “Exercise saved my life after a 2011 accident left me without the use of my arms and legs. I founded Ability Fitness to help others, both physically and emotionally, through fitness. With this financial gift, The Rotary Club of Leesburg is helping us to serve more individuals in need.”

The Rotary Club of Leesburg has chosen and committed to support Ability Fitness Center throughout the year with hands-on volunteer service, community awareness and as its STAR beneficiary. The Rotary STAR shines a light on local nonprofits that exemplify the Rotary mission of Service Above Self. Ability Fitness will be honored at the STAR event in March 2020. Details will be available soon at RotaryClubOfLeesburgEvents.com.
