In Recognition of Veterans' Day

Special recognition was paid to our WWII veterans: Jack Howard, Andy Cumbie, Stanley Caulkins and the late Marshall Philpitt.  Stanley Caulkins pictured here. The Veterans' Day program included guest speaker, Staff Sergeant Cory Zemany. He is the supply NCO for Charlie Company 3rd Battalion 116nth Infantry at the Virginia National Guard Armory, Leesburg. SSG Zemany shared stories about his illustrious military career that has spanned more than two decades, having served in Panama, Honduras, Iraq, Afghanistan and Cuba GTMO.  He received numerous awards including he Army Commendation and Achievement Medals multiple times and awards for National Defense, the Global War on Terrorism, the Armed Forces Reserve, and the Iraq Campaign medals. On February 15, 2008, SSG Zemany was wounded in Tikrit, Iraq.
