On Aug 31, our speaker John Chapin will share his experience teaching at the Academy of Engineering and Technology in Leesburg, VA. For the last three years John has been teaching Math and Computer Science in Loudoun County Public Schools.  Prior to this he founded and was president of Peaks Real Estate, a multi-family real estate investment and management firm headquartered in Leesburg, Va. He co-founded LifeMinders in August 1996 and served as Chief Operating Officer, Senior Vice President, Board of Directors Member, and Secretary to the Board. LifeMinders went public in 1999. Previously, John was owner of the Enquire Gazette weekly newspaper in Upper Marlboro, MD and a systems engineer for EDS.
John is an active volunteer and has served for the last 10 years on the Board of Governors of Wesley Seminary and for 11 years on the Board of Advisors for the Loudoun County Salvation Army.  John helped to start the Salvation Army feeding program that has serves approximately 8,000 meals a year. He has served on the Loudoun County Advisory Board on Youth.  John was the first director of the Wesley Ministry Network helping to create education programs for lay persons. He is currently treasurer of SamaritanAmericans.org an 501c3 that is helping to end the cycle of poverty in India
